Years ago, a quintessential neighborhood auntie from Vietnam moved to the bustling city of Bengaluru. A travel enthusiast at heart, she had travelled all around Asia, from Myanmar to Japan. She was in love with the localities, the communities and the culture from every country she visited. But what stuck with her the most were the distinct flavours from the streets. From Khow Suey and Ramen to Satay and Yakitori, she discovered the wide range that Pan Asian cuisine has to offer.

She was happy to be in Bengaluru, she missed the flavours of home. Although Her craving for authentic Pan Asian cuisine grew stronger. She realised that Bangaloreans weren’t completely unaware about Asian cuisine or culture, they too had travelled around Asia and experienced true Pan Asian fare. Nonetheless, her search went in vain. She decided to share her experiences of the Orient to India. And thus on a quaint spring day in 2015, under the parent company Fat Mamma’s Kitchen, Auntie Fung’s was born. Soon she made her way to the capital city to give Delhi an authentic taste of Asia.

With a promise of authenticity, the brand symbolises the heart of Asian cuisine and culture. She curated an eclectic menu that showcases Pan-Asian fare with Auntie’s little touch dedicated to the common folk. She is getting ready to spread her wings and land in other cities too.

The Founders Story

Subhradeep Bhowmik
(Founder & CEO)

Satrajit Das
(Co-Founder & COO)

The founders, Subhradeep and Satrajit, go way back. They’ve grown up together in the city of Kolkata, a city known for its gastronomical experimentation and refined taste. They both studied together till they went their separate ways to join their respective corporate careers. However, fate clearly had other plans.

Both with a passion and fascination for all things food, they seized every chance that came their way to travel around the world and discover new flavours. Regardless of their burden of work, they always found time to experience the local fare wherever they went. In all their expeditions, one truly stuck with them- a family holiday in Vietnam and Singapore. They were enchanted by the hustle and bustle of the streets, with every nook and corner screaming a story of culture and cuisine. The warm flavours and the exotic cultures of these Asian streets inspired them to bring the street food of Asia back home.

They said goodbye to their corporate lives and welcomed the entrepreneurial spirit cuisine with open arms. Thus, Auntie Fung’s was born. The dream to help Indians experience true Pan-Asian fare continues to live on one outlet at a time.
